High Power, High Reliability Offshore Wind Technology

HiPRWind is the largest research project on offshore wind funded by the EU 7th Framework Programme in terms of budget. It is focused on developing very large floating wind systems that may unlock cost-efficient renewable energy production from deep water areas all around the world.

The project aims to unlock new deep-water areas for wind power by doing enabling research on floating systems. European industry supply-chain, SME’s and R&D partners are collaborating on innovative solutions and components for wind power in deep waters.

Tasks developed by Qi Europe

  • Definition of an O&M protocol, and test platform operation monitoring
  • Communication with the test platform
  • Development of dissemination material & Dissemination activities
  • Training seminars and provision of scientific data
